Hello hello all. How is it already October? Per usual I am a little late to posting my month in review, but better late than never, eh? September was a great month, which I think shows in my creative output. For fun I did some collages and paintings inspired by BTS’s Dynamite music video, and one of moss after a rainy day’s walk. I also took a four-week drawing and collage class which was super inspiring and motivating. The only problem is I feel more pulled-in-all directions than ever before. I want to draw, I want to collage! I want to do more creative journaling, but also make clay things and jewelry! So much to do and so little time.
I also checked out the a’strict exhibition at the Kukje Gaallery which was a great immersive experience. It was a video installation of waves and sound in a mirrored room. I’ve included a little clip at the end of my September vlog, linked at the bottom of this post.
In addition to drawing and collage, I started experimenting with beads and accessory-making. Just a couple fun kitsch keychains and some clay beads and charms (I call them my clay cuties) to play around with. I started painting the beads last night so hopefully I can share the finished pieces this month.
I also watched the new BTS documentary Break the Silence: Persona. If you buy your ticket on the movie theater app you can make these photo tickets (the back of the cards has your ticket info.) I will warn you, I’m falling deep into the BTS fandom so the boys will probably be making frequent appearances in future posts.
Finally, snapped this very autumnal-looking garden which reminded me a little of Piet Oudolf. If you haven’t heard of him, this trailer to his documentary Five Seasons is a great primer. He’s a leading figure of the New Perennial movement, which considers the structure and composition of a garden through all the seasons, including fall and winter.
This post is part of Su’s The Changing Seasons. Check out her post for amazing photography and thoughtful writing, and see how other bloggers spent their September.
Hope you’re all safe and well. Here is to October!
I so get the desire to do everything!!! I always have so many projects on the go because I want to try new things and have too many ideas.
I love your clay beads. π
Wishing you a happy and creative October.

Such a creative month for you. I understand that urge to try everything. Not enough time, as you say.

Indeed. But it’s also a happy dilemma, I suppose. At least when it comes to creative hobbies π

Korea just continues to look so amazing and cultured. I really miss art galleries and live music. My town just doesn’t represent, yo. Speaking of, are you going to see BTS in concert now? π
OH, I wanted to ask you, did you deliberately separate Sep – tember on your calendar? I thought it was clever and cool π
We’ve been also getting tons of rain here. Maybe Asia in general is getting lots? I like your Sept 2nd experiment, probably because I love GREEN.
Happy October! xo

Yes it’s nice to be able to take advantage of some of Seoul’s cultural opportunities again. Fingers crossed galleries and museums will reopen again.
Yes, I watched the online concert. π Are your students ARMY too? haha.
As for the calendar, I think I just wanted to use up the remaining squares so I filled them in with the letters. Glad to hear you found it cool π Thanks for reading and watching as always π

So glad you had a much better September than August! Wow! So many creative projects- but as you said it’s a happy dilemma to find oneself in. π
I haven’t done any fangirling for ages which makes me feel so old. π Wishing you a happy and creative October! π

Haha, believe me, fangirling at this age makes me feel old. But it’s still fun. Thank you for the good wishes, Sarah. Hoping the rest of your month is filled with creativity and fun as well!
