Before writing up my monthly review I had a look back at my Changing Seasons posts from September 2019 and 2020. I was surprised to discover themes from four and five years ago that still hold true today: some form of fan activity and small creative projects. Whether I’m 13, 30 or 60, I suspect those will always be activities that bring me joy.
Work – At the beginning of the month I started a new type of part time work that was challenging, but hopefully I can improve the more I do it. I have another gig coming up this weekend, so will do my best to prepare and stay calm and collected through it.
Fan activity – I haven’t been very active in going to fan events for BTS this year, but I did go to JungKook’s Golden exhibit and see his documentary, I am Still, in theaters this month. Every time I watch one of these documentaries, I always leave in awe of their work ethic and inspired to tackle my own life with the same passion and gusto. (Even if it doesn’t last that long…hehe)
Family – my cousin and her son visited Seoul from California and it was so good to catch up with them. My cousin gifted me a 40 oz Hydroflask with a handle and straw which has been a game changer for hydration. Drinking water has definitely become more convenient with a big water bottle, highly recommend. September was also Chuseok (autumn harvest festival) and I visited family in Busan. I really enjoyed walking barefoot along the beach while I was there.
Creativity – I turned a tote into a book sleeve! I never used my canvas tote from the Busan Yet to Come concert, so I pulled it apart and restitched it by hand to turn it into a book sleeve! I’m very pleased with it and have used it to carry around The Artists’s Way, which I started this month with a friend. We’re on week three this week!
Nature – The weather stayed pretty hot until Chuseok, then finally cooled down to acceptable early fall temperatures. Towards the end of the month I got back out to the red clay path and walking the trails in the mountains. Looking forward to getting back to the mountains this season.
Decluttering – This month I tackled more papers, notebooks and letters. It was fun to see my old notebooks from when I first started studying Korean, and look through and discard old postcards and letters that are no longer meaningful to me. I used to keep every single piece of mail and note I received. Recently my mindset has changed and I’m able to let some old correspondence go without feelings of guilt or obligation.

Once again, this post is part of the The Changing Seasons challenge. Check out Ju-Lyn’s post at Touring my Backyard to see how other creatives’ have spent their Septembers!
Wishing you a wonderful start to October, friends 🙂

What a great post! I like the idea of using the canvas bag as a book sleeve. I also bought a Hydroflask to gift to my daughter, who seems to have problems with drinking water. Your photos are beautiful!!!! Love the waterfall.

The canvas material was thin enough that I could restitch it by hand, and I’m very pleased with the result. Hoping your daughter makes good use of her Hydroflask! I am loving mine and now understand why people love their Stanleys! The waterfall was a fun discovery in the middle of the city!
