As the postcard message explains, spam cans are just one of many gift sets found in stores around the traditional Korean holidays. Other popular gift sets include various fruits, shampoo and soap, ham and cooking oil, Korean beef, and traditional snacks.
I want to watercolor more, and this attempt at a “spam still life” a few weeks ago counted towards the “practice makes something” adage. Obviously it turned out… not great, so I had tucked it away for a while, and today I tried to salvage it with all the washi tape colors. Again, am coming round to the usefulness of washi. I decided the end result fit the bill of the recipient’s request for “weird and unusual” so into the postbox it went.
Nice and colourful but I hate spam!
